Some running, Tons of food, Two spoiler alerts.

Let's backpedal to Friday -- Halloween Eve at my school.  Work husband and I had some Frozen funsies!:)  It helped that I have blonde hair and blue eyes.

And this is what happens when you ask a seventh grader to take a picture for you.

Since we were in charge of the Haunted House in the gym, I knew we probably wouldn't have a chance to eat breaky...and maybe lunch...so I did the right thing and picked up some Halloweenie donuts for us to nom on.

I can't discuss how many pieces of candy I was given.  And ate.

It's always nice when your students think of you, though.

I rushed home right after work, packed (quickly --- I left essentials behind...) and set off to pick up Harry.  I'm not gonna lie:  I was ridiculously exhausted already at this point.  I was basically fueled by Halloween candy, and still had a bit of a drive ahead of me.  I was lucky, though, because Harry and I agreed on a spot to eat almost as soon as we checked into our hotel room.  Downtown MKE was so quiet...it was strange...

Build-A-Burger was the spot we chose, and it was DELISH.

After dinner, we hit the room to get to snoozin'.  I was freezing and wanted to warm up, so I hopped in the shower.  The hotel we were staying at had this lovely massaging soap.

Back to Build-A-BREAKFAST to start our Saturday.  Chicken & waffles ===== yes.

We hit up the expo for Packet Pickup, and saw MO.  She was running the full marathon, and had a sub-4:00 goal.

SPOILER ALERT #1 ----------> SHE KILLED IT!

Lunch happened.  I wasn't about to hold back at this point.

I took a glorious nap after going to the mall to find Harry and I some last minute things.  Like Harry some running shorts.  And socks.  And sunglasses for me.  We left a lot of stuff at home.  #oops

We went out to dinner with Jennifer, Eric, and their friend Chris.  Pizza and beer is always a good idea the night before a race, didn't you know?

We got back to the hotel and I slept like garbage.  I was more worried about the time change and my alarm not waking me up more than anything.  Plus my back hurt.  I had nothing to worry about, as my iPhone was smart enough to change when it was supposed to, and I got up seriously ready for some caffeine.  A little while later, Harry and I hopped on the shuttle to take us to the start line.  And in true Harry & Tiff race fashion, we were running late.:)  We had the whole bus to ourselves!

The race deets will come later this week; I want to see if they got any good pictures of me, haha!

SPOILER ALERT #2 ----------------> 1:58:46.  Not too bad for not training for this "event".

As for the rest of the trip:

Delicious coffee.

Delicious sushi.

Delicious beer.  No, not all of that is for us.  I picked up some booze that isn't sold past the Wisconsin border for some friends.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AS FOR THIS WEEK, I'm dealing with diet changes.  I'm DONE with sugar, guys.  I have stuff to train for and can't put crap in the tank, so I'm breaking up with all of the sweets.

Also?  THIS.

Have a WONDERFULLY WEIRD TIME-CHANGED MONDAY, friends!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How did you spend your Halloween weekend?

Do you do well with the time change?
-PARENTS OF SMALL CHILDREN ---- I bet not, huh?:(

How often do you go on vacay?  Is it mostly about food like it is for us?:)

  2. New Glarus is the jam. I only got a 6 pack because I was carrying it myself. Guess I'll just have to go back for more. SO HAPPY FOR MO. She deserves it. And not too shabs (as you said) for your race, either, miss thang!

  3. You have to bring New Glarus home with you! My hubs was in Wis last weekend and replenished our supply of Spotted Cow.

Congrats on that awesome finish time! I may do that one next year. Did you know I went to Marquette? So I have special feelings for Milwaukee.

    1. Talk about a GORGEOUS campus! I'd definitely go back to MKE to take a real tour of it; we weren't lucky enough to have that much time this visit.

    1. Time to get some pep in the afternoons. Double days will happen soon, just so I can re-energize while the sun does its thing.

  11. I love that I know all of the Milwaukee restaurants/ spots you are talking about!!! You did the right thing buying lots of New Glarus! That is definitely a Wisconsin favorite. I was pretty nervous about getting up for the race with the time change too, but I think I felt pretty refreshed. Congrats on the race & a fun halloween weekend!

  12. It was so awesome to see you this weekend!!! Way to rock that race on no training... that course was no joke (the full was worse, trust me).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't sleep on time change day. It takes me forever to adjust to this crap. I really think I'm late for work this week. It's so confusing.

    1. Also, I can tell which hotel chain you stayed at by the soap. I stayed at the same hotel in St Louis back in April.
