Well, Thursday was so rude.
But you gotta roll with it!
And keep rolling with it.
My solo spin was so very 80s-inspired. I'm on the biggest 80s pop kick lately.
Warm-up:
Jumps:
Seated hill:
Out of the saddle, running:
I was all alone in the spin room, and all I wanted to do --
---- was this.
Inches and inches of snow were accumulating, and the city just wasn't prepared for it. Traffic was absolutely terrible, and I'm lucky that I left the house early to hit up the gym, which is about halfway between my house and work. What normally would've taken about 45 minutes to get to work, took nearly two hours this morning. Y-I-K-E-S.
And it took 45 minutes to travel a route that usually takes 15-20 minutes.
Well I wasn't having this. I was starving, and my breaky (Spinach and Feta wrap from da' 'Bucks) smelled so very good. Since I was barely moving, I decided it wouldn't hurt to nom in the Jeep. No regrets.
I've learned living here that I have to keep a pair of snow boots in my Jeep. You never know when it'll snow six inches in a few hours, and you're running around in sneaks.
My delicious lunch. It was a good thing to get some comfort food in the middle of this day.
It was nice to sit down and all, but I had second grade and Kindergarten to teach afterward. I knew that driving home might be a nightmare, so I mentally prepared myself for some frustrating moments on the road.
Once I got home, I had a lovely snack (my usual apple and Oikos Greek vanilla yogurt), and just chilled. It's been a really rough week and all, and the day had felt like just one thing after another. Harry's solution was pretty awesome:
Harry had to run after work, so I go maybe an hour with the Kid before I head off to bed around 9:15am...like an old lady. I left just as he was beginning to enjoy some dessert.
Yaaaaaay, we got more RVOs! <3
From the "Woaw...!" department...THIS happened.
"Woaw...!"
I'm so thankful it's Friday, I can hardly stand it. The good news is that the city got on top of all of the ice and snow, and pushed it to the side of the road where it belongs. I don't trust that the sidewalks are clear yet, so I'm off to the gym to hop on the dreadmill. Anyone wanna come keep me company?
Have a glorious Friday, friends!

Do you ever eat in the car while driving? I promise, I won't tell.
Name the last song you heard that made you want to dance.
Big plans for the weekend?! TELL ME about them!
-JOSI'S Frozen Yogurt just around the corner is done hibernating for the Winter, and re-opens this Sunday! Yes, this counts as "big plans"!
Kudos to you for even attempting to wear something other than snowboots upon leaving your house! I haven't left the house in anything else in...3 months? (Love yours, by the way!)
ReplyDeleteI live dangerously!
DeleteAlso, I wore my snow boots allllllllllllllllllll last winter, so I don't blame ya'.
Pittsburgh got a bit of snow, but nothing like that! I also did a morning spin class today and it's so hard waking up at 5 to walk in the freezing cold to get there! Queen is one of my favorite bands so great choice there :)
ReplyDeleteMy bed is so warm and comfy. It's so hard to leave!
DeleteStay wam!!! And i LOVE your snow boots!
ReplyDeleteThank you! They're cozy, too.
DeleteI'm always worried when I eat in the car because I feel like everyone can see me. That doesn't stop me.
ReplyDeleteNothing stops hunger. Nothing.
