Baby Steps

Wednesday night, I hit the track with the 606 crew.  I haven't been here in quite some time!

And you know what I did?

I walked.  A half mile.  Without the boot.:)

It was tempting as all getout to run with Greg, Steph, Michael and Eric.  I felt a little flutter in my feet and in my heart when they ran past me.  I wanted to flyyyyy with them, but I know that I need to be patient.  The easy part is coming, I just know it.  They cheered me on

Yesterday morning, I decided to hit up the gym next to my school for cardio madness.

20 minutes on the rowing machine ~~~ I was huffing and puffing right away, and about five minutes after starting the workout, I realized that the resistance was on full blast.  I ended up rolling it back a bit to a moderate resistance.  I was still working hard, but it was much more attainable at this point.

1/2 mile walk on the treadmill.  I reckon that changing up the surfaces of my walks may help my foot adapt even more.  Also, I was totally walking, promise...this picture is a little deceiving.

30 minutes on the elliptical.  I watched an episode of "30 Rock" on Netflix to help with the boredom.
True story:  I used to be the elliptical queen!  I could spend an hour and a half on that bad boy and not get bored.

Work husband and I decided that it was a good day to combine some of our classes for PARACHUTE FUN.  Thursdays are SUCH weird days, and sometimes it's too easy to go off the curriculum grid.  Our students love it, so we don't feel bad.  At all.

Later in the day, after getting chilled to the bone while outside during recess, I made myself another helping of hot chocolate.  I couldn't warm up for nothin', but this hit the spot.

Also, I made my seventh and eighth graders VERY jealous during health class.

The rest of the day was a piece of cake after that.  I guess I'm going to stock up on hot chocolate and hoard it in my office.

My sweet friend at work had used her prep time (her last period of the day, when we teach her class) to go grab some food from the little cart that's parked outside of our school near the end of the day.  Students and parents grab everything from nachos to elotes from them.  They also have the freshest fruit, and sprinkle lime and chili on it...for $3.00.  $3.00!!!!!!!  I didn't time myself eating this entire container, but I seriously devoured it.  I'll time myself next time -- seems like there's a PR opportunity there...

I'll give you one guess as to how many other people got fruit to enjoy during our staff meeting after school...

And finally, the highlight of my week/day/life ----> Getting to enjoy some sushi with my Suz.  We haven't had a visit in a while (too long of a while).  She suggested the best sushi place ever, where they make your food look so pretty.

Of course, we talked about everything under the sun and moon between me taking enormous, awkward bites of my food.  I'm not sure if you know this or not, but Suz is a huge source of encouragement, love, and all of the lolz for me.  I'm just a little happy that she's my bud.

Harry and I are packed and ready to get out of the city for the weekend with Sophs!  What are you up to, friend?

Do you like sushi?  What's your favorite ingredient?
