I wish it could snow at warmer temps, although this morning wasn't terrible. I nearly ripped off my gloves halfway through it. One thing is for sure: Snow is sooooooo pretty. And the crunching noise it makes when you run on it makes my heart smile.
Erm, hello. Creeptastic. It was only a short run, and I seriously thought about going another mile. I then started thinking about all of the work I needed to do today, and that messed with me enough to make just head on home. Needless to say, I'll go the extra mile next time.
I showered up and was off to work, using some Jeep-powered 4WD to get over the un-plowed snow and ice.
My mind was elsewhere this morning. I put my coffee from my lovely neighborhood Dunkin' Donuts (they put my name on the cup every single day with a SMILEY FACE) on the hood of my Jeep, and watched in slow motion as my beloved cup of coffee slid off and onto the cold, hard ground. I made a dramatic noise (something along the lines of a howl and a gasp...a gowl? A howsp?), grumbled, then went off to work. I'm lucky that my Principals purchased a wonderful Keurig for the staff last Christmas.
A friend of mine from college texts me every single day to lift me up. It's something I really look forward to.
My fifth graders love my tunes. I'm teaching a basketball unit, and today was all about ball-handling and dribbling. I had to get these kids in the mood to rock out some mad skillz.
Crab-walking is for winners. Just ask these guys.
Go read this.
#WIAW!
Greens + my latest favorite veggie (I'm obsessed with peppers now?), brown rice and quinoa, an Amy's burrito, and WHOLLY GUACAMOLE.<3
Thanks to our beautiful hostess withe mostest, Jenn @ Peas & Crayons for the link-up!
And finally, the tangents have lead to your *Brain Hug* for today --
This video doesn't make me think, so much as it makes me want the little coffee cup of math chocolate.

QUICK: Favorite kind of chocolate? White? Dark? Milk?
No one actually likes running in extreme weather, right?
If you have time, do you consider going an extra mile, or another exercise, or another pose, or another few minutes?
I'm really sorry about the coffee incident. Seems like you had some good stuff going on to make up for it! My middle schoolers got a kick out of the fact that I love hip hop. They couldn't believe it at first!
ReplyDeleteTeachers like cool things, too!
DeleteAll the chocolate. I love that you get a smiley face on your coffee. That is epic.
ReplyDeleteThe staff at the drive-thru DD next to my house ROCK. I'm sad on days when I don't stop by there, seriously.
DeleteI've been running in extreme weather all winter. And no, I don't like it!
ReplyDeleteIt's getting old, for sure.:)
DeleteFavorite chocolate: Salted Almond Milk Chocolate. Or Toasted Coconut. OR the Birthday Cake Truffle bar by Seattle Chocolate. Actually, the last one is definitely my favorite. Your description of running in the snow makes me want to run in the snow. Sadly, not an option in Florida.
ReplyDeleteYou can come run in the snow with me!
DeleteI know you're not supposed to cry over spilled milk, but I think it's totally okay to cry over spilled coffee. So sad! My hubby was shoveling a crust of ice off of our driveway and sidewalks yesterday morning. Yuck! So ready for it to heat up. I hear warmer weather is coming this weekend--I'm so looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI.CAN'T.WAIT.TO.RUN.IN.SHORTS.
DeleteI'm so sorry about your cup of coffee! :'( That reminds me of when I was taking a beginning conducting class (yay music) and...snapped my baton in half when I lifted my backpack up and it caught on the chair. ;_; It was very much a slow-motion "NOOOOOOO!!!!"
ReplyDeleteWholly Guacamole makes my world go round, especially when I catch it on sale and get a huge container for cheaper than a single avocado would cost. <3
And yay for crabwalking, haha. :D!
I buy the Wholly Guacamole at the Costco! <3 <3 <3 WG Heaven <3 <3 <3
