K.I.S.S. & Brownies

Please excuse my ugly piggies.  I definitely need to get them taken care of, ASAP, what with sandals-weather right around the corner.

Workout at the pool = easy threesie set of 500 = 1500 yards.

I decided a couple of weeks ago that Monday mornings would include my endurance swimming workouts.  I need to work on building my distance, and for that, it takes long, simple sets.  No gimmicks.  No games.  No drills, sprints, intervals, or essential timed effort.  Just K.I.S.S.

Lunch?  Pretty simple, as well.  Basics go a long way when they're all jumbled up together.  Sweet potato, broccoli, grilled chicken breast, and Wholly Guacamole.  A moment after this photo was taken, one of the fifth grade teachers looked up from her lunch and asked "Did you just take a picture of your food?".  *le sigh*  That's embarrassing sometimes.

But there's no judgement at home!  ...at least when Harry's not home, anyway.

I came home with a bit of a sinus headache (will this stuff ever end?!), and relaxed while catching up on "Once Upon A Time".  I haven't watched it in about three weeks, and the shows have been nagging at me from the DVR.  Eep.  I decided to embrace the sickies and take a nap while Harry was out on his run, then hopped up and was ready to make dinner as soon as he walked through the door.

TJ's Chicken Fried Rice hit the spot.

With something rich for dessert -- TJ's Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Brownies.  I'm not in the market for gluten-free anything, but I obviously won't rule it out (since it really hardly matters to someone who can digest gluten).  They hit the chocolaty spot.

(Also?  No, I didn't eat all of the brownies on this plate!

...Although, I wouldn't judge you for assuming that.)

I'm off for a run this morning, still half asleep and dreaming of those brownies.

Last veggie you ate?  How did you prepare it, or did you eat it raw?

When in doubt, do you keep your workouts simple?

Favorite brownies:  Homemade or from a box?

^^^^^^^^ IF homemade, share the recipe?:)

  1. Favorite brownie is any one that is being shoved in my pie hole. I'm keeping it pretty simple with my swimming as I am getting used to it again--especially the mental side of it. But I can already see results! Also, it's hard to get major speed practice in when you don't move very fast in general.

  2. Definitely homemade brownies but I haven't found a favorite gf recipe yet. A massaged kale salad last night for dinner was the last veggie for me. Raw. When in doubt I keep my workouts short.

    Have an awesome day!

  5. My lunch was packed with veggies today: zoodles with broccoli and cauliflower with a side of quinoa, cucumber, tomatoes and lemon. So good! I also try to keep it simple when in doubt. A workout is a workout! :)
