No Salad Is Complete Without...

Hi, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm procrastinating like no other right now.  You see...

The wind has been HOWLING outside for hours!  I think it woke me up around 1:30am, and just kept waking me up.

When in doubt, turn to research.  Here's an article from Runner's World, entitled "Running Against the Wind", from Coach Jenny!

So with that, it's time to crank up the tunes and get motivated to get out there.:)

Can I get real with you about food for just a second?  I have no idea what has come over me, but I am C-R-A-V-I-N-G salads lately like no other.  Because of this, I've upgraded my salad toppings from a few tomatoes and cucumber slices, straight to full-on REAL salad toppings.  Not like the others are fake, but not filling.

I got to try these for the first time, and made the biggest salad ever.  I keep making these for lunch, and I'm loving it!  My salads MUST have a protein (I'm used to putting roasted turkey breast from TJs in there, or a hard-boiled egg), a fat (avocado or some dressings), and a variety of greens (I take a handful from two different bags, at least).  The toppings themselves are just the best bonus of my life!

My spin yesterday = 45 minutes of catching up on "Once Upon a Time".

You know I watched the rest of them directly after my spin.  I'm only slightly embarrassed to say that I didn't shower directly afterward.

Some errands-running, and more "Once" (after a shower), Harry ran to the train after work, and got home ready for a shower and dinner.  We usually make dinner together, but he was exhausted from a long day, and I had plenty of energy from taking a day off.  We tried this pasta for the first time, which was seriously delicious.  I don't particularly enjoy whole wheat pasta and breads -- sometimes the wheat is just too overwhelming.  But this stuff was legit!  We threw in shrimp just for funsies.

The rest of our evening was dedicated to watching "X-Files" in bed until we both zonked.  Perfecto!

  1. One thing I will say for running in Chicago--it made running in Phoenix feel like nothing! I would love to see the Northern Lights one day. I just think that it would be one of those life changing moments, you know?
