RELAX.

I'm never again going to doubt myself.

Yeah, right.  It's only natural to not believe in your own talents until you're smashing the crap out of them.  I honestly didn't think that my nine-miler was going to happen yesterday.  I slept in until 7:30am (ohhhhhhhhhhh, glorious sleep!), which equated to me getting out the door at 10:00am for my long run.  I was s-t-a-r-v-i-n-g.  Harry told me to take along a GU with me, just in case.  I don't normally take one for this low of mileage, but I'm super happy I did!  Mainly because it was delicious.

I took my nutrition around mile 5.5, where I felt slightly bonk-ish.  About ten minutes later, I was feeling COMPLETELY restored and was able to rock out the rest of my run.  And I'm not kidding when I say "rock out".

Some pretty scenery as I passed a couple of parks.  I just love how many parks are here in Chicago.

If you could have anything after a nine-mile run, what would it be?

...Oh.  My.  Gosh.

I got home and enjoyed more coffee, stalked some of you guys, and hopped in the shower just as Harry was finishing up his 12-miler.  He usually stops for coffee, and often offers to bring me home some.  It was almost noon by this point, but I knew I'd need more caffeine in my day.  The lady at the City News Cafe always seems to give him a couple of free truffles.:)

Awkward, not-so-flattering photos are my thing.  I just never post them.

And reading material while I waited.  <3 her.

Ah.  Will your hair ever be prettier than when you walk out of the salon?  I'm too lazy to ever make my hair this pretty.

I hadn't eaten since noon (the truffle up there!), and was slightly woosey while sitting in the salon chair.  I just kept gulping water.  *le shrug*  However, even though we were going to start dinner in about an hour, I had to have a snack.  Also, bowls are overrated.

Before I knew it, it was dinner time!  Harry got some turkey burgers and yummy buns at the store for us to nom on, and we had some leftover *LIFE CHANGING* sweet potato fries in the freezer.  HOORAY!

The grill is obviously out of commission at the moment, so Harry took the patties to the pan, paired with some *cooking* music.  Get it?:P

Harry was clearly twice as hungry as I was.

Ah, bless.  A movie to follow.  Try watching "Under the Skin".  It's terrifying in a REALLY weird way.  It's also up for a few Oscars, so we thought we'd check it out before watching the drama literally unfold this evening.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Will you be watching the Oscars?  If yes, what's your favorite part (the Red Carpet, the characters, certain awards, etc.)?

My favorite part about getting my hair cut is getting my hair washed.  You too?:)

QUICK:  What's one thing you're excited for this week?
-I have an awesome training schedule to start!  Woot!

  3. Yum! I love sweet potatoe fries. No Oscar watching for this mama. We spent our evening binge watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, lol! I'm so envious that you got to sleep in AND get your long run in. It always seems to be and either/or proposition for me. Someday I'll get to sleep in again. Haha!
