Change of [Training] Plans

I think I was just talking about adapting to change the other day, and how life happens and how I've been adapting and rearranging without any issues.  This morning proved me right!  There was a pretty big thunderstorm rolling through, that I only noticed while I was driving out to work, where I was going to hit the trails for my nine miler.  The lightning was going off every 30 seconds to a minute; there was no way I was going out in that.  Especially for an hour and a half.  I saw another runner and walker out on the trail by the road, and just shook my head.  Nope.  No way.

I ended up going to the recreation center we have on our campus, which I have keys for!  Yay!  It's small, but contains some really nice equipment we purchased with generous grants and donations.

True story:  I haven't been on a treadmill since January or February.  I can't stand the thing, but desperate times call for desperate measures!  Also, I got to work on my race photo smiles.  ALSO, I had the whole room to myself the entire time, so I cranked the tunes.

During an interval.  Um.  I'm not sure what compelled me to take a picture while trying to concentrate on my breathing, but whatever.  It's there.

Some tunes that got me through the tough times!  I rely on music OFTEN.

+ .3 miles I ran before I pressed a button and the thing stopped.  PPPPPPPPPPPP!

Thank you, Oprah.<3

Work work work, then came home and ATE EVERYTHING.  Nah, I had an apple + Nutella, some SkinnyPop, and dinner.  Girl time...nahmeeen?  Shortly (as in five minutes) after dinner, I mentioned Josi's, and Harry immediately jumped up and put on his shoes.  We haven't been there in so long!  I figured that I've been pretty good with the sweets, and considering (again) girl stuff, the hankerin' was worth fulfilling.

Harry's taking an extra rest day, as he's having some tightness in his glutes and hammies.  I started working on his hips and hammies and basically lost track of time and missed my Yoga class.  I have a feeling that I'll have time to make that up tomorrow.  Plans change, and I'm getting better at adapting with that!

  1. WHY HAVEN'T WE GONE TO JOSI'S YET???? PS are you doing the women's half over labor day weekend or are you doing fun fam stuff?
And that weather was insanity--sun/torrential downpour/sun/torrential downpour/sun. We never got any lightning by the lake, though.

  2. I'm always ready to ZUMBA in my basement if the weather gets bad - and now I have my Zumba Step platform for an extra challenge! I'm pretty sure it's the Zumba music that keeps me pushing at the end of a long day. It's too hard to resist bouncing and bopping!
