Doo-Doo-Doo-Doooooo #TOLT

Happy Thursday!  Time for some thoughts of mine--if you daaaaaaaaaare, muuuahahahaha!

1.  My run yesterday morning reminded me of my marathon training -- where my weekday *longer* runs seemed to go by so quickly.  I do miss getting up so early and knocking out seven to nine miles.  Is that insane?

2.  Around 6:00am...here comes the sun!  It's coming out earlier now as we approach Spring; it won't be long until it's coming out at 5:00am.  Also, I need new, light-canceling curtains before Spring.

3.  How to get your eighth graders interested in learning CPR:  Tell them that you might drop one day and they'll have to resuscitate you.  That seems to impress them enough to want to learn.  I'll take that as a huge compliment.

4.  Who needs a fork when you can use your food to pick up food?

5.  I lol'd at this!  And then I drooled.

6.  How Harry and I deal with a tough day.

7.  I can teach a million and one ways to use hula hoops. My favorite activity is to ask my students to use a gross motor skill (walk, run, skip, gallop, etc.) traveling from one hoop to the next, then tell them to put a body part in the hoop (one hand, two hands, one foot tap, two feet jump, etc.).  Their favorite is to put their belly button in the hoops (GIGGLES all around).

8.  Cooking-Reading material.  There are some delicious words in this book.

9.  I think that Kenneth Parcell is the most perfect human on the planet.

Like, the most perfect human ever.

And I'm going to take an active effort in trying to see the World the way he sees it.

10.  Is that song stuck in your head now?

  1. I have to ask, what is a Starbucks Ariana Grande? I'm going to order it the next time I'm at Starbucks.

    1. The Ariana Grande

      • Start with the base of a grande-sized “Cotton Candy Frappuccino” (which is a vanilla bean and raspberry Frappuccino from Starbucks’ secret menu).
      • Add extra mocha syrup.
      • Add extra mocha chips.
      • Blend.
      • Top with extra whipped cream.
      • Finish with a generous caramel drizzle.

  2. Ha why yes I do think you're crazy for missing marathon training. I've never run one but I literally just said "I can't imagine training for a marathon and putting in all the extra time" - I would like to one day when I have a bit more time. Not meant to be offensive in anyway though, mad respect for all marathoners - I'm only half-crazy ;)

  3. I'm going to be missing marathon training very soon!
The song from the Sprint Narwhals commercial. And it makes me happy every time.
I cannot hula hoop to save my life.

  4. I love that Harry is Mr. Wonderful in your phone. And hula hooping is harder than I remember it to be as a kid. Either that or my coordination has tanked since hitting 30.

  5. I noticed the other day that the sun was coming out earlier! And staying up later. That makes me super happy since the lack of sun is probably what I dislike most about the winter months. And I feel ya on the blackout curtains. I need to pick up some of those as well, especially when the sun decides to stay up until 10:30 in the summer...

    1. The sun comes up so early during the summer that it makes me think that I'm late for work, for crying out loud. Scared..every day...!

  6. Great time on you 5 miles. I didn't know they taught 8th graders CPR but it is great they do. I believe it should be taught in all schools.

    1. This program was from a very special hospital nearby that organizes volunteers (Med. school students, Nurses, etc.) to come to schools to teach basic compressions and the importance of calling 9-1-1 and using an AED.:)

  7. I'm LOVING the growing daylight! I'll totes join you for the Ariana Grande. I had a flat white today. "If you don't believe me just watch" is stuck in my head as I type.
