B-U-S-Y Week!

This week has been extremely hectic!  Work took over my brain for the most part, and made blogging seem completely impossible.   We had our Field Day this past Friday at school, and, as the P.E. teacher, I was given the opportunity to coordinate the entire thing just last Friday.  *le sigh*  It went well, but it seriously could've been better.

I did get two, count them TWO, perfectly fine Yoga sessions in, some speedwork with the crew on Wednesday, and some easy miles.  Other than that, my energy sort of went toward all of the activities we had planned for the week, including my Move-versary!  Giordano's and a Shiner for me; the same meal I had exactly one year ago.  :)

Some balance was done in Yoga this week.  I haven't done shoulder stands in quite a while, and boy howdy could my body tell!  After one minute of holding this, my core and shoulders were shaking.  That's the sweet spot!

Boat pose is always a good time.  I've trained my core intensely over the years, and can do just about anything that is thrown my way.  Holding this pose and extending the variation of it is one of my favorite things to do.

Our Wednesday night speedwork with the /R/iver /R/unners was pretty tough.  It was about 80*F when we started our intervals (five minutes on, ten minutes off).  Steph and I kept our conversation and pace up very well.  Once again, I firmly believe that I would've bailed well before our actual finish time if she hadn't been there.

I threw some of this tastiness in my water bottle about thirty minutes before we went to the track.  I really believe that it helped fuel (electrolytes) through the run, and allowed me to really adapt easier with the warmer temps.

Retreat to Half Acre Beer Company's tasting room!

We ordered out to Bad Apple Bar, which was right across the street.  My Bad Apple burger to Harry's Elvis's Last Supper...BACON AND PEANUT BUTTER!  It was heavenly!

We got Miss Sophs last night, got up early and hit up the Run or Dye 5K this morning.  I will be posting about it tomorrow, so stick around!

In the meantime, I'm going to begin focusing on this:

Please tell me you watch "30 Rock".  If you don't, it's on the Netflix.  Go nuts.  Jack's wheel here is the key to what I will deem as the guide for my "Priority Plan", or "PP" for short.  I really need to focus on all of these aspects of my life!  I cannot focus on just one thing at a time, which is the pace I've been stuck at for several months now.  It needs to be an all-around synergistic effort.  I want to be more efficient at work.  I want to train harder.  I choose to be a better blogger.  I want to get back to being strong with my faith (although that Joyce Meyer 3030 Challenge I did in March was super helpful!).   I know like I know like I know that I just need to prioritize, and everything can be mine!

Also, I want her sandwich.

How was YOUR week?  I want to hear all about you, now!

Do you take electrolytes every day, or before working out in the heat?

Summer's just about here!  Do you have plans for vacation or travel?  SPILL IT!

  2. My core is getting so much stronger, I can feel it each time that I'm doing inversions and stands, but I've still got a ways to go. Part of that is also continuing to trust myself and my body, but that will come with time. I'm sad that I have to basically go a week without my studio while we travel this week, but I'm hoping that maybe I can get some solo beach practice. That would be pretty killer!
